The Nigerian Society of Engineers in Collaboration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) organized
a Training Programme for the Building and Construction Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN). The programme held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 with the theme, “Engineering Practice in Nigeria: The Role of the Regulatory Body and Professional Association”
The training was in furtherance of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by NSE and BACSAAN on September 14, 2017, with the objectives of reinforcing the regulation and monitoring of the practice of Engineering in Nigeria, improving the quality of work in the built environment and enhancing the skills of artisans working in the built industry through regular training. Overall, the collaboration is aimed at curtailing the occurrence of collapse of buildings in Nigeria.
The Convener of the training programme is the Vice President and Chairman of Civil, Agric. and Interdisciplinary (CA&I) Board of NSE, Engr. Joseph O. Akinteye, FNSE, FNICE, MNIM, MASCE, MPSIN
