The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a leading professional organisation in Nigeria with over sixty thousand members, is desirous of recruiting competent, self-motivated and result-oriented candidates to fill the vacant positions listed below. The location of employment is the National Engineering Centre, Abuja.

  1. Job Title: DOCTOR

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing medical care to staff who are ill.
  • Adhering to ethical and legal standards by maintaining ill staff confidentiality, obtaining informed consent for treatment and following guidelines for medical billing and coding
  • Clear communication with ill staff to ensure they understand their conditions, treatment options and any necessary lifestyle changes.
  • Documentation and maintaining accurate medical records of ill staff information, treatment plans, medications prescribed and any other relevant information.
  • Collaboration with colleagues to ensure comprehensive care for patients which may involve consulting with specialists or referring ill staff to other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, treatment guidelines and technological advancements.
  • Maintain professionalism and integrity at all times. This includes treating ill staff and colleagues with respect, being punctual for appointments and addressing any patient concerns or complaints in a timely and compassionate manner

Qualifications

  1. MBBS degree
  2. NYSC or exemption certificate
  3. Communication and computer skills are required

Remuneration

The remuneration shall be as in the Nigerian Society of Engineers Employee manual.

  1. Job Title: NURSE

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing patients with information about their conditions, medications, treatments and preventive care measures.
  • Support doctors by preparing ill staff for examinations, taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and assisting with procedures and treatments
  • Administer medications, including injections and intravenous therapies, and educate the ill staff about proper medication use and potential side effects.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for ill staff assessments, treatments provided, medications administered, and any other relevant information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Performing various administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, managing referrals, obtaining insurance authorisations, and handling billing and coding
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as specialists, pharmacists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for ill staff.
  • Handling incoming calls from ill staff, providing guidance, assessing symptoms, and determining whether ill staff need to be seen in the office or if their concerns can be addressed over the phone
  • Nurses must be prepared to respond to medical emergencies that may occur in the office setting, such as allergic reactions, cardiac events or respiratory distress, by providing immediate care and coordinating emergency services as needed
  • Nurses play a key role in preventing the spread of infections within the office setting by adhering to infection control protocols, promoting hand hygiene and educating patients and staff about infection prevention measures

Qualifications

  1. A degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program, e.g. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  2. Knowledge of occupational health
  3. Communication and administrative skills

  1. JOB TITLE: DRIVER

Requirements for driver:

  1. Obtain SSCE Certificate
  2. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license issued by the relevant government authority.
  3. Candidate must possess a valid Trade Test I, II, and III as a test issued by the relevant authority.
  4. Applicants must know a software component that allows the operating system and a hardware device to communicate with each other in a car.
  5. Candidates must have 5 years of working experience
  6. Candidates must know Abuja's terrain and environment

Job Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the safe and timely movement of staff on official assignment and the members of the society
  2. Ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
  3. Perform routine vehicle inspections to check for mechanical issues
  4. Provide courteous and professional service to staff/members of the society
  5. Maintain accurate records of trip logs, fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance activities.
  6. Respond promptly to inquiries, instructions or requests for assistance.
  7. Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations related to vehicle operation.
  8. Obtain necessary permits, licenses, or certifications.
  9. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing NSE.
  10. Carryout other duties as assigned by the designated staff or Executive Secretary

  1. JOB TITLE: FACILITY MANAGER

Facility Manager Requirement:

  1. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering with cognate experience in Facility Management.
  2. Must be a member of NSE and register with COREN.
  3. Continuing education and professional development in areas such as building codes, environmental regulations, and management practices are beneficial.
  4. Minimum of University Degree with eight (8) years post-graduate experience in relevant professional Association.
  5. Strong technical knowledge of building systems and infrastructure (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) is essential.
  6. Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior management, employees, and external partners.
  7. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, safety standards, environmental regulations, and occupational health and safety (OSHA) requirements.
  8. Experience in overseeing construction projects, renovations, or facility expansions.
  9. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing the maintenance of all facilities and equipment within the building.
  2. Handling emergencies and unplanned incidents, such as repairs and safety issues.
  3. Monitoring expenses and controlling costs related to facility management.
  4. Monitoring energy usage and implementing energy-saving measures
  5. Conducting regular safety inspections and drills.
  6. Communicating policies, procedures, and important updates related to facility management.
  7. Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

ANNOUNCING THE ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THE OCTOBER 2024 DIET

Membership Application Portal for Corporate Membership for category (B1, B2 and C1) for the next active diet - October 2024 Diet is now OPEN!!!

Prospective members are to note that the October 2024 Diet is opened now. Members that have registered under October 2024 Diet can now login to their application portals to submit their application once it is 100% completed.

However, Members and Prospective Members are to note the new changes as highlighted below:

  • Application into Category B1, B2 and C1 are now open throughout the year for period of three (3) diets.
  • Candidates can select any of the four diets and apply. As at now, Candidates can apply into either October 2024, February 2025, July 2025. When a diet is closed, another Diet will be opened automatically to complete the three diets opened at a given time.
  • The active diet will be the most recent diet. As at now, the active diet is October 2024.
  • Each diet will come with its own time table, candidates are advised to study the active diet time table so as to plan effectively.
  • Only applications in the active diet will be given utmost priority while applications in other diets will be treated when such diets are active.

2024 Young Engineers Innovative Competition

The Nigerian Society of Engineers is hereby calling for applications from all Young Engineers (Students, Graduates and Corporates) in Nigeria for 2024 Young Engineers Innovation Competition. This competition is to distinguish and recognize in a dignified public way, an outstanding Young Engineer of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Applicant must be a student, graduate or corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
  2. Be a Nigerian Citizen
  3. Be 35 years and below
  4. Be a Resident of Nigeria and In-diaspora.
  5. Be an individual or a group of individuals (Maximum 4 persons)

Applications should be made strictly on the prescribed Format which is available on our website: www.nse.org.ng

 

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

  1. This application is open to young engineers (students, graduate and corporate members) of the Nigerian Society Engineers between 18 and 35 years old from Nigeria.
  2. Have a completed form submitted to the Committee by 11:59 PM, August 31st, 2024
  3. Candidate's professional integrity shall be beyond question.
  4. Candidate have consistently worked for the professional and technical interest of the engineering profession.
  5. Candidate shall submit a project proposal.
  6. The Innovations should be in the following categories:
  • Software
  • Hardware
  • Robotic
  • Renewable Energy
  • IoT
  • Others
  1. By entering the selection process, participants guarantee that the submitted documentation is an original work created solely by the applicants and that it does not infringe on copyrights, trademarks and the rights of privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity.

Note:

The Nigerian Society of Engineers reserves the right to revoke and or withdraw any already given award/Prize at any time whenever the originality/authenticity of claims by the applicant is in doubt.

The Nigerian Society of Engineers is hereby calling for applications from all public and private science based secondary schools in Nigeria for 2024 NSE Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientist (JETS) Competition (Maiden Edition). This competition is to encourage creativity and innovation among the young minds in the Senior Secondary schools and to identify potentials that will go on to drive the technological advancement of Nigeria.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Applications must be done as a school and not as individuals.
  2. Must be a Nigerian School
  3. Schools to be represented by a team of two (2) students only.
  4. Participants must be students of SS2
  5. Can be public or Private school
  6. School must be duly registered and recognized by the government.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

To be eligible for selection, applicants must

  1. Be from public and private Senior Secondary schools in Nigeria registered and recognized by government.

  4. Submitted a project proposal which must be technology-based and in any area of Engineering

  • Ensure adherence to protocol guidelines and international diplomatic norms.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute high-profile events (receptions, conferences, ceremonies).
  • Manage event logistics (venue, catering, transportation, security).
  • Ensure timely and efficient coordination with stakeholders.
  • Logistics and Administration.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for visiting dignitaries.
  • Manage protocol-related documentation (invitations, letters, certificates).

INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR THE RENOVATION OF NSE HEAD QUARTERS ANNEX, VICTORIA ISLAND, LAGOS

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the premier engineering body in Nigeria, is pleased to invite qualified and reputable EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractors, consultants, or consortia to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the execution of the renovation of the NSE Victoria Island HQ Annex:

Scope of Work:

1. Interior and exterior renovation including painting, flooring, lighting, and fixtures.

2. Upgrading of electrical and plumbing systems.

3. Installation of new HVAC systems.

4. Roof repair and maintenance.

5. Compliance with building codes and regulations.

6. Project management and coordination.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience in commercial property renovation projects.

2. Licensed and insured contractors.

3. Ability to meet project deadlines and budget requirements.

4. Strong references from previous clients.

5. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.

Submission Details:

Interested contractors/consultants/consortiums are invited to submit their proposals by November 19, 2024. Proposals should include a detailed scope of work, timeline, budget estimate, and relevant experience.
